Cookie policy
The cookies this website uses, what each one is for, and how to change your choice.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work. Others are optional, and we only set those if you agree. This policy also covers similar storage in your browser, which we treat the same way.
Your choice
When you first visit, we ask which optional cookies you allow. Nothing optional is set until you choose, and rejecting them is as easy as accepting them. You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the foot of every page. If you withdraw consent, we delete the cookies from that category. We ask again after six months, or sooner if we change how we use cookies.
Necessary cookies
These keep the site working, so they are always on.
- site_consent, set by this site, remembers your cookie choices. It lasts six months.
- If you take the weight loss quiz, your answers and, once you book, the time of your appointment are kept in your browser’s storage on your own device until you close the tab, so you can go back a step or refresh the page without starting again.
- If you pay a booking deposit, our payment provider Stripe sets cookies named __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid, and m on its own domain, to process the payment and prevent fraud. They last up to two years.
Analytics
Optional. With your agreement we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve the site. This includes the steps of the weight loss quiz and the answers chosen in it, how our chat assistant is used (never what is written in it), and a record that a booking was made, without your name or contact details. Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which last up to two years.
With the same agreement, this site keeps a note in your browser’s storage of the advert or link that brought you here, whether you started booking from the chat assistant, and which steps have already been counted, so that each is counted once. These notes are deleted when you close the tab, except the record of counted bookings, which stays until you withdraw consent or clear your browser’s storage.
Advertising
Optional. With your agreement we use the Meta pixel, from Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It tells Meta which pages you visit and when you start the quiz, finish it, start booking or book, so we can see which of our adverts lead to bookings and show our adverts to people who have visited this site. Meta never receives your quiz answers, your name or your contact details from us. The pixel sets a cookie named _fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from a Meta advert, which last 90 days. Meta may also set its own cookies on its own websites.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, the site cannot remember your cookie choice and will ask again on every visit. For more information about cookies, visit aboutcookies.org.
